Is this a real mobile number?+
Yes. SecondSim gives you a genuine US mobile number on a national cellular network. It is not a VoIP or app-based number, so carrier lookups see it as a regular mobile line.
Can I port my existing US number in (including from Google Voice or Sideline)?+
Yes. Bring your existing US number (including from Google Voice, Sideline, OpenPhone, Grasshopper or another carrier) onto a real SecondSim cellular eSIM so it stops getting rejected by banks and payment apps, or get a brand-new local number at activation.
What does all-inclusive pricing mean?+
The price on this page is the amount you are charged. Sales tax, regulatory fees and 911 surcharges are included, not added at checkout or on your bill.
Will it work alongside my primary number?+
Yes. SecondSim adds a second line next to your existing number, whichever carrier it's with. Both numbers stay active at the same time, and your phone's own Phone and Messages apps let you choose which line to call or text from—including native Apple iMessage (blue bubbles) and FaceTime on iPhone.
The one requirement: your phone needs to be carrier-unlocked, so it can accept a line from a different provider. Here's how to check:
iPhone: go to Settings › General › About and scroll to Carrier Lock. If it says “No SIM restrictions”, you're good to go.
Android: the setting varies by manufacturer, so the quickest way to check is to ask your carrier through their app, website or support line.
Still locked? Most carriers will unlock your phone for free once it's paid off and your account is in good standing. You can usually request this in your carrier's app or on their website.
Does my phone support eSIM?+
Most phones from 2019 onward do, including iPhone XR/XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and Google Pixel 3a and newer. iPhone 14 and later models sold in the US are eSIM-only. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked to add a line from another provider.
Do I need a separate data plan?+
No. SecondSim is for calls and texts. Keep using the data on your main line or Wi-Fi, so you are not paying for data twice.
Can I add lines for my team?+
Yes. Add as many lines as you need under one account, send activation links to staff by email, label and reassign numbers from your dashboard, and get one invoice for the lot.
What happens to a number when someone leaves?+
The number belongs to your business, not the employee. Reassign the line to someone else from your dashboard and customers keep calling the same number.
Is there a credit check or contract?+
